Default oil change

I am going to change the oil in my '17 GC diesel. Not waiting 20,000km!
Is it 5-30 or 5-40? Seems to be some confusion there. And what brand are you guys happy with?

The correct grade is a CJ-4 5W-40 low SAPS synthetic oil. FCA recommend Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 for Australian customers but there are better oils though not as readily available. I used to use Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 but no one brings it into Aus anymore.

I use Penrite enviro+ 5-40, in W.A I think 30 is a bit light. Just my opinion.

I'm thinking of doing the same. Question though - where do you all get your filters from? Local dealer or online?

Cheers
