I have velcro'd a Tekonsha P3 to the dashboard on the right side. Wires run up through the side panel so the loom is always visible even when the unit is not installed. Location is easy to operate the manual brakes when needed. Very quick to remove when not needed.

Cheers,
Mike.

I've somewhat confused myself, I had thought the dealer trailer wiring was 6 wires into the 7 pin plug but he wired 7 as shown. I assuming the blue wire hasn't been terminated in the car as I'm installing a brake controller.

So I have eight wires now the thick black one is the one I intend running to the brake controller and hence pin 5 replacing the blue wire. Have I got this correct? and as such blue wire wouldnt be terminated..

The blue wire is the trailer brake wire, with the WK/2 they include the trailer brake wire with the tow bar wiring, makes for a neater install, the trailer wiring runs up through the cargo area floor then off to the left, up behind the trim on the left hand side of the cargo area where the trailer harness plugs into a connector just under the window left hand cargo area, the blue wire( trailer brakes) finnish's at this connector
Because you have already run a wire( the large black one) through to the trailer plug just swap your black wire with the blue one in the trailer plug and all should be fine

Of all the unites iv installed on the WK's the Redarc Unit is the best to install , very compact , i mount the button & led just below the headlight control switch on the drivers side & as for the blue pick up wire its taped to the loom up inside the passenger rear inner trim panel below the quater window wating for u to conect it to ur controller of choice , while ur there run some 4mm twincore to the same point , 1 for blue wire & the other for the brake light power wire , its easier to get the power from the tail light rather than play with the brake peddel switch as they are sensitive & can play up oh & 1 other thing while u have ur head under the dash remove the carpet from around the footbrake leaver & check the activation wire from main harness on firewall has not rubbed through on the peddel frame , if so repair it & re-rout the wire out of the way , so if ur cruise control plays up this is the fix for it

Thanks looks like a did a bit more than required, although larger core doesn't hurt. I also spliced into the red as shown to get the brake signal, which goes to the 7 plug trailer stop signal.

If I've read that right - you took the brake signal feed from the trailer wiring harness lead previously installed by the dealer.
Exactly what I had planned to do after previous advice here and elsewhere about them being a bit sensitive.
Thanks for the photos.
