Default Wanting a Cargo Barrier

I'm wanting a cargo barrier for my WJ and while an original its pricey, I noticed there are heaps of really cheap cargo barriers for other makes and models on ebay
Any one been successful fitting others to a jeep or know of one that has similar contours? Naturally the brackets can be made up....which is a cheap thing to do..
Thanks

Hey ASP - don't waste your time doing any more research:

http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...=cargo+barrier

I spent a good couple of weeks looking for one that would fit based on their measurements and found the Falcon AU-BF wagon one was the most suitable and really cheap. Best of all, you can use the bottom mounts as well!! (Just need to fab up the top mounts)

There are photos in that thread and other info too. If you need any other advice, just let me know.

Thanks Hanna
Didn't remember seeking this before
So you're saying a Falcon AU-BF Wagon is the best to use?

Yeah mate.

Due to the unusually narrow cargo area of the Jeep GC (i.e. in comparison to Landcruiser's, Patrol's, Pajero's and other full-size 4WD's) the Falcon one fits best.

I tried/checked others including Commodore's, Camry's, Subaru's, and mid-sized 4WD's and none of them were any good.

The Falcon one actually slots perfectly between the wheel arches as shown in my photos. I have found it to be absolutely spot on for the cost of about $30!!

Thanks Hanna for your advice. I think if I can snare one at around $30 , I can't go too wrong.
I assume that the fit top/bottom left/right is acceptable.

It's pretty much spot on. I thought the gaps at the side were a little big until I saw my sister's new Subaru Forester with a factory cargo barrier. Gap at the top is non-existent once you flip the brackets around. Bottom doesn't matter as the seats are there and I cut the bottom section out anyway so you can slide long things through while the seats are down without removing the barrier.

Put it this way - we have a crazy little Pugalier (Pug x Cavalier Spaniel) and when he's in the back he can't even poke his head up the side of the barrier and he can sneak his way through most things!

As I said - check out my previous comments and photos in that thread I linked, most of it is covered. If you need more detailed information once you purchase your barrier, just let me know.

BTW - I got mine for $15 off eBay (locally) and then it cost another $15 for the galvanised straps (for brackets) and bolts from Bunnings.
