JeanLuke, do you recognise any of these as an ADC?

I'll trace the pins through if I get time. Follow the breadcrumbs.

Most of those chips are Bosch specials. If you Google the first number beside or just below the Bosch trade mark you can find them. They are even sold on eBay!

The Infineon chip is a microprocessor. It will hold some embedded software, so replacing it is not an option. Physically, it is a BGA mounted chip, which means it has solder points underneath it. Unless you own the right equipment, it will be very difficult to solder. I'd say replacing it is a show-stopper.

I am not quite sure on the NEC chip. I *think* is is also a microprocessor of some type, but I could not find the datasheet on it. I found so for sale, but no datasheet, which rings alarm bells.

EDIT: The one with the bar code and date on it - that's a special. Manufacturers do this to prevent copying.

I think the one with the sticker on it might be where the maps are held. I have seen info regarding dual mapping where they extend a board up and have two of these chips which then become select-able. Also seen other videos taking about this chip after a bad flash.

Guess there is always the chance that the ADC is just directly in the processor chip. That would be true for many micro controllers.

Not a huge deal if it can't be repaired. It still boots up and functions, so might just power it up and play with it on the bench.
