I fitted up some WK/WH SRT long tube headers on my project.

Most use WK SRT factory headers and never heard of 300C ones being used. I looked at them as well as didn't realise you could buy headers off the shelf for our WH.

Yeah that was my other option but having the wheel on the other side I'd be a guinea pig that is for sure.

Been a bit slow on a number of fronts as need to fit a new shed door (so the car can actually get into the shed). Planning a trip to the Cape soon so I'll probably post a fair bit more up as I work towards that. I bought a used front diff with a pair of CVs(that seem intact) that I am tempted to swap in as I have some rumbling from the front I haven't been able to pinpoint. I needs a good degrease and I might pull the cover off, clean and reseal as it'd be *a lot* easier to do out of the car.

Well guys I've finally started with the backlog!

The planned R&R has got the following items in it:
  1. New idler pulley
  2. New tensioner
  3. Top and bottom rad hoses
  4. New belt
  5. Coolant flush
  6. Exhaust manifold leaks
  7. Fit front CRDSTU bash plate
  8. Front diff inspection (perhaps swap it out)
  9. Diff and gearbox breathers
  10. Snorkel
  11. Wiring the rear setup for fridge and compressor

Some details of the exhaust manifold adventure are in the below link.

There is definitely a clunk from inside the front diff but not sure if its excessive backlash or something else so I think I'll be swapping it out in the future.

Well I wrenched on it pretty solidly before heading off to Cape York for a 6 weeks and chipped off a bunch more items.

Fitted up
  • CRDSTU power steering / lower bash plate
  • Rear power outlet (removed the cig socket and put a connector on for my fridge
  • Fitted a MDS light
  • Mounted fridge
  • Removed roof rack (wasnt needed for trip)
  • Fitted Airflow snorkel (poorly)
  • Topped up fluids

Now that I've returned after 8,000kms, the car went fine and got me everywhere I wanted (had to get winched up a embankment by a mate as the only recovery).
I've found a few new things to sort out:
  1. Water ingress (crossing the Pasco river gave me some wet feet and very wet carpet)
  2. Throttle body sticking (when the car is warm, turned off, restarted within 5-20 minutes), idles shit and throws a code, power cycling it comes back to normal (code P2112)
  3. Differential clutch performance (still having issues locking up)
  4. Comfort / Spring rates (the search will continue as the ride is baaaaad

Ordered some new goodies for it, and of course discovered a few things I missed on first inspection (always the way) so now need to source a lower ball joint as one of mine has a lot of play in it
