Default Had it a week and fixed the boring V8 exhaust!

Edz 2014 WK Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 with modified exhaust.

Bought the car with Corsa mufflers at the rear. PO said 'nice sound' but for me it was very mild, the only V8 sound was a little burble at the back, you couldn't hear anything inside.

Turn your speakers up - https://youtu.be/CQdOK2YxZ3o. Recorded the sound with a lapel mike taped to the back door.

Amazing the difference to the sound now with the centre 'suitcase muffler' replaced by a couple of hotdogs, I thought it would drone but it's very rare to hear anything. This was the Jeep V8 sound I heard at my local shops 3 months ago that convinced me I wanted a V8 instead of a boring diesel Pajero!

New shoes. Falken Wildpeak AT3W in 265/65/18.

Normally I’d agonize for weeks over tyres but the lack of stock for most of them ok canberra as well as the exhorbitant prices of other brands made it easy.

I’ve gone from KO2s to the Falken and don’t think I’ll ever go back. It’s like riding on a cloud, such is the silence after 90,000km of drone.

It’s probably a more realistic tyre for me too, given how much time I spend on bitumen

Hi
How can I ask how is your speedo with the bigger sidewalls? I've got the 265/50R20 but want to get some 18 rims but a calc says at 65 the speedo would be 4% out. Suppose it doesn't matter as long as you know.

I'm running 275/65/18 Wildpeaks and it reads about 1-2% under true (GPS calculated) speed - most GCs seem to over-read from factory by a few %, so 265/65/18 would probably correct it to be spot on

They look good @Taprod the variation isn't enough to worry about speed wise and about 5kg heavier for 4 tyres is tolerable..... The JGC doesn't lend itself to adding much weight.......... They might be a serious contender if they are in LT.

Tbh when ordering I checked if they were LT but don’t really remember as I was just glad to get some tyres on the thing. A quick google search seems to indicate they are but I’m not all that bothered based on the stuff I do.

My previous tyres were also 265/65/18 so I’ve been running this way for a few years. Only thing I’ve really noticed is the car is a couple of percent more sluggish, probably from the increase in diameter and unsprung weight as the previous tyres were at end of life and these have a fair bit of tread
