Default Tie Rod Sheared

Hi

My tie rod end sheared off when turning out of my driveway, luckily was only doing 2 miles an hour!

Just a quick one on the correct lower inner tie rod (passenger side) for a 2003 crd right hand drive. I think the original owner may have used the incorrect tie rod.

Is the one pictured the correct one for the car?

thanks

It looks like the drivers side to me, the bend should face backwards.

It's possible the whole tie-rod has been installed back to front as the wrong tie-rod on the wrong side wouldn't work as the thread would be wrong. Check the other side too.

I have seen the thread wear to the point of slipping out due to the tie bar lock nuts being loose and the 2 threads work on each other until there isn't enough to hold firm

Sorry I made an error in the original post; I stated the it was the lower track rod end; in fact it was the upper track rod end that snapped at the tapered thread. At passenger side.

Below is the part I removed from vehicle: is this the correct part? None of the part suppliers seem to have it listed as the upper track rod end

I believe you might mean lower drag link end, not sure if they are the same as the tie rod ends, i had one snap from faulty machining from the manufacturer.
