Had some time during my daughters arvo nap to take off the rear leaf springs and the front bullbar with a half tonne of dirt. Photos attached.

Ditto. More power to you and your wife! Having a story behind the project only adds to it, plus extra motivation.

Cheers

Okay, so it's been a while!! boy how time flies, before you know it's been a year since swinging a spanner. I'm going to get stuck into it this weekend as i finally got around to getting a tool to remove the inner parts of the hubs. Then it's time to spend money!!!!

I know the feeling, my CJ8 has had some down time too. Trying to renovate has taken most of my spare time.

Great to see another CJ being restored. We need to save these great vehicles.

for sure!! Life can get very busy indeed.

Well i spoke to Stuart @ Murchison offroad in Brendale and he's a very helpful bloke and gave me some homework to do such as make a list of the things im going to start to need and then he can look at supplying etc which got me thinking about which parts can or need to be kept and which don't.

I think we're going to scrap the coil sprung idea and leave it leaf spring to save time and money. So over the weekend i was able to strip the chassis right back and clean it up.

I want to find a one stop shop that i can take the diffs, chassis, leafies and side steps taken to be blasted, inspected and refurbed/repaired then powder coated so that's the next step.

Here's a playlist i've made in my youtube channel of what i've done so far:

Cheers.
