Default Flat flares

Hi all,
my wife got pulled over by the cops in my JK. The system built flares I have on weren't wide enough. I am thinking about putting on the rugged ridge hurricane flat fenders, or the rampage (Lund) flat fenders. They all say that they are 1 inch wider than stock, but what actually is stock? Has anybody got either of these flares, and how far do they stick out from the body at the centre of the wheel hub? Pretty keen to get this fixed as we got a written warning, but not an official defect where we need an inspection.
Thanks for your help, Cheers

What rims do you have that have pushed them out past the OEM flares?

A cheaper way you can go about it is to buy some Uneek 4x4 flare spaces. They go between the stock flares and the body and push them out another inch.

I fitted walker evans legacys with 295 nittos. With stock flares you could see the tread hanging out enough to attract attention. I fitted the rr hurricanes and they just covered the tread, but the sidewalls are still sticking out. Apparently this is legal.
Just by looking at it not measuring, the 1 inch wider than stock refers to 1/2 inch each side.

And what do you prefer to use a car wash for your jeeps? Is it manual or automatic?
