Default 2.5 TD 100% mechanical pump coversion?

Hello, writing from Europe! Hoping to get some help with my XJ.

So I´m having immobilizer issues with my 2000 XJ 2.5td and im thinking now the solution could be to adapt an older 100% mechanical pump from some other vehicle.

Has anyone done this? Any advice to give? Main concern I believe is how will the Jeep IP gear fit on another pump? But other than that i guess its simple, need to run coolant to the pump for cold/warm start and ignition timing settings. Needs to be same hand driven, same plunger size etc.

You should ask this on the VM Diesel group on FaceBook. There are probably people who have done it in that group. I cannot recal anyone in this group doing this in the past. I would think it is probably cheaper & easier to fixreplace your immobilizer.

You don't need to look for a pump from another car, all the VM's installed before 97 have a mechanical pump

Are you completely sure? I´ve googled older Jeep pumps and they all still have a few electrical connectors. (electrical cold start timing advance?)
