(Got Canaries) Transfer case front drive shaft sqeal pleas help
Gday Guys
Got a question. Started to have a really annoying squealing noise (sounds like a canary chirping) under the front of the jeep
Upon inspection jacking and removing the wheels found it to be inside the transfer case near the front driveshaft. When you manauly turn the front driveshaft it squeaks once per turn.
Driving it it gets quicker and then sometime stops.
I assume something is rubbing inside the transfer case but buggered if I know how to fix it.
Most likely the dual cardan joint on the front driveshaft and not the tcase, they dry out and squeak just like you describe. Pull it out, replace the uni and possible the ball centering unit if dry and damaged, and the squeak will go
my tj had a squeaking cardinal joint i sprayed chain lube into it also there is a ball in there with a rubber dust boot i sprayed chain lube into aswell and the squeaking stopped
