Envious,
First thing mate, Im unsure what your reply to my post is all about. At no time did I mention anything about profit making to your club. Thats not my point at all. A question concerning the cost of entre to this event, is one point.
Second, I do not expect empthy because I have 5 children. My choice. Only three of my girls are under the age of 15. Again Im expressing to your club or your as the Jambo committee member, what every one is saying. That the cost for such an event is too much for a family or even so, anyone. Some feedback!
Third, I don't need to me told where the "clubs" money goes. Again this is not the point we are talking about here. You say the club is non-profit, then why justify it spending or point out no one is making a profit.
Forth, I think your statement
"For those people who go on about the cha-ching of cash registers, they have their own agenda and will be negative towards the jambo no matter how it's organised." is just plain incorrect. I and many others that have stated that the cost of entre to this event is extremely high. We dont have a hidden agenda. You say you are non-profit, so please explain the high cost of this event. Thats all we are asking.
I decided to reply to this thread because nor I or my family could make it to the last jambo. We have seen the great reports and photo's from that event and know that this type of event is worth going to. But again the cost is the killer, and like I said $1200 plus, its not going to happen.
From all the replies to this thread, its looks like many people are not going because of the cost. I wish the event well, but I dont see it as a big family event, which again is my point.
So thank you and please pass on my comments and those of others, to the Jambo committee.
Dave

Firstly, the Qld Jeepers Club Inc is bound by law to be a non-profit organisation, it is bound by law that it can NOT distribute funds to club members. The Club doesn't need to buy any physical items, it has been established 25 years and has purchased any neccessary items long ago. Even if the Club is closed down, funds can NOT be distributed to members. Over the years, any small amount of funds that have been built up have been distributed to community organisations like The Royal Flying Doctor & Care Flight. It just wouldn't make any sense for the club to budget for a hugh jambo profit, and it hasn't. For those people who go on about the cha-ching of cash registers, they have their own agenda and will be negative towards the jambo no matter how it's organised.
Secondly, I would consider your situation unusual (with 5 children & 2 Jeeps) and my suggestion would be to email jamboree@queenslandjeepers.com.au and see what can be done to help. The club isn't a corporate conglomerate, it's a bunch of Jeepers like you and me.
I know the word 'email' will upset certain forum members, but the Jamboree is who you should be communicating with if you really want to do something positive and attend a great Jeep event.
Thankyou for your time and I hope to see ALL of you at the Jambo.
