I don't recall having that much trouble but I have to ask.
When you removed the old bush did you remove/cut out the original bushing shell?
Not wanting to doubt you ability but I have done stupid stuff like that before

Yeah cut out the original shell, pita that was too lol!

I'm gunna press them half way out again and lube what's left of the housing then press them in again. I reckon they'll pop straight through!

The side bush is still in very good condition, still considering whether I'll pop that out and use the second Superpro bush or not. Thinking I should as I really don't want to ever do this job again lol.

hi
Like I wrote earlier if you collapse the edge of the shell with a chisel, knock in you get it to distort then you can easily belt them out. The superpro have a not got a round outer for this application and pull through very easily. If you need a little crc/wd40 will help. Do not try to fit with the steel bush, that goes in later. The housing should be nice and clean. A screw thread road with nuts, sockets washers etc is the easiest way to get them back in. Doing them in the vehicle you roll the diff so its hanging down.
Now back to wiring this damn hemi.
Best of luck
Peter

Managed to get it all finished today. What I was hoping was a 3-4 hour job ended up taking nearly 12 hours... But both bushes are now done.

Definitely a diff out job IMO. Would have been a nightmare trying to do it laying on my back in the driveway on stands.

I was able to press the side bush out about half way with my G-Clamp press kit, then bang it out the rest of the way with an air chisel.

After giving the inside housing a clean up this time I did use some grease on the inside of the housing. Should have done this with the first one. Took about 6 attempts to get the lip started, but once this was half way in, we were able to pop it through the rest of the way by hand! So much easier.

The front bush will also need to be done, it's OK but starting to crack, so will be in my next order from Rockauto.

Just do Super Pro.

I did it maybe 4 years ago, can't tell any increase in NVH, and my diff is nice and solid.
