Yeah sorry, wh, in us they call it wk and the new one wk2.

Looks like the cv is mangled, shaft seems ok.

Is it some management system happening that it won't drive reverse?
We had trouble getting it unloaded from the tow.

I replaced the cv last year, got it from poly 4x4, $300 odd, so we can get cheaper hey

Cheers gordo

Yep I agree with you. The WK series is from 2005-2010. The export version is known as the WH in Australia, but it is definitely a WK. For those who disagree, have a look at WKJeeps.com. The latest model is the WK2, and thankfully (finally) it's called the same in the US and Australia, however it would have been better to lose the "K" though to stop continued confusion, as we have seen here.

Regarding the drive shaft, with my old WJ (actually WG) you could remove the front drive shaft and continue to drive without anything negative hapenning. I gather you can't do that with the WH?

Doh, ok if front drive shaft isnt connected, and not in low 4wd, it wont drive, as no power will be transferred to rear wheels, it goes out the front....

In low it will lock in the drive to front and rear....

Mechanic says only cv by the looks, drive shaft seems ok, fingers crossed, just waiting on a response from the mob who Doc very nicely provided a link to, thank you...

While I am ordering from US, anyone else want to add to the order??

Cheers Gordo

I would go with a new shaft Doc, once you trim the factory yokes down to fit c clip unis they are pretty weak. tried it on the old shaft i had to see if it would work, didnt like it at all.
Yeah I think Ill be replacing the shaft got the correct part number now so can order a new one from the states
Just deciding weather to go genuine or get one made
I have been quoted around the mid $500 dollar mark for a new custom one here in Aussie from Gibbs tail shafts they have made a few shafts for some of my race cars years ago which usually means add $100 to the quote
I have found brand new genuine in the US for $733 us dollars just got to add freight to that if I order genuine Ill get it here then swap it over half hour job if I go custom she will be of the road for 2 days to a week tops
The original shaft took till 240,000 k,s to get noticed and as I don't do any off-roading just highway and town use stock is enough but then I also intend on keeping this vehicle ill do some equations on which way to go and figure it out then
