he was driving a stripped down vehicle from which he had removed the roof, doors and windscreen. this also meant he had no rear vision mirrors. removal of roof is pretty obviously not an issue.. but any reasonable person even without any knowledge of adr's would see a pretty good chance of a few laws being broken with the rest of it. so if he just gives us the content of the charges on his infringement notice and on his vehicle defect work order, it will end this whole thing.

Look at the TJ door crumple...

I don't think you'd likely be pulled over with a set of these, but no doors/tube doors sure do attract a lot of attention:

cheers

so on your infringement notice, what was the offence, and the act and section of that act that you contravened. on your work order to accompany the tow away order, what was the list of defects and what act and section of that act did your vehicle contravene?

the fact is that after all the talk and discussion, you were charged with a specific offence. or a number of specific offences. your post seems to indicate you feel you are not guilty of the offences you were charged with. no-one can offer any worthwhile opinion till you can supply the specific offences you were charged with and the statutes and the section of the statutes that you were charged under.
