Just be aware, too much friction modifier can damage your seals
quote from Penrite.
Quote:
Pro Gear 80W-140 is already dosed with the correct amount of friction additive for use in limited slip differentials, no extra additive is required, nor should it be added as seal degradation may result.

[QUOTE=Luke K;1597312]Hi guys, I have recently had my diff oils changed and asked them to put the correct oil in along with the correct friction modifier additive..

There seemed to be some confusion with the mechanics as they said the oil already has friction modifier in it?

Just wondering here you had your car serviced?
I went through this drama last year at the local Jeep dealer. They tried to tell me I didn't really need the FM, or at least I had to specifically ask for it. In the end I bought the Mopar FM and drained a little bit of the new oil out of the diffs and replaced same quantity with FM. Haven't had any problems, but boy was the stuff expensive! (Both the oil and the FM) I would probably use a different brand of diff oil next time that has a FM included.
