Hi Eugejk,

Mate i achieved wheel spin and not braking because it thinks i've lost control. I reckon being able to spin the wheels will also help me NOT to catch on fire as some others have from autos overheating. I do alot of sand work and the constant pulsing under brake and lack of power from braking wheels through the ESC was a pain. A short time ago i got stuck in very fluffy sand in 4h and couldn't move, my tyres where at 12psi and when i opened the door to check what was doin and planted my foot it just made engine noise, dropped it in to 4L and backed straight out, this happened because when in 4Lo all the ABS/ESC and BAS is disengaged. To my knowledge yes BAS is totally gone along with ABS as far as EBLD couldn't tell ya... Maybe Rezor or Crazynuts could help on this one.

For those of you that are too scared to cut cables, you can also just pull out the plug going into the sensor.

MY09 onwards have a different plug type and can't be pulled out by hand easily. You have to jam a small flathead screwdriver or nail file to lift a locking latch and then you can pull out the plug.

Only takes 5 min to do including unscrewing the centre console. You don't have to take the centre console out, only lift it at the rear.

Kewl...didn't know you could do it that way too

What else does it "disable" by pulling the J6/J7 fuses?

That would be easy to reverse quickly. If blown fuses were plugged in then technically nothing has been tampered with. I like the idea.

I didn't understand why there is so much effort & discussion on AJOR to get around this, when it's that simple!!

I can appreciate the option of having the switch, it is convenient, but its the same principle when you dont have a switch for ur thermo fans and are about to enter deep water - jump out and pull the fuse!

J6 & J7 fuse disables ABS completely, therefore ESP along with it

J6
40 Amp Green
Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Pump/ESP

J7
30 Amp Pink
Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Valve/ESP

there is another benefit, which has the potential to significantly increase resale value- but i will let you guys quickly figure it out and you choose to continue doing this or not!! (I'm not sure why it does this either as it shouldnt affect it in anyway)

obviously you dont want to be driving around on-road with ur fuses out- if you do require the ESP disable on-road, then the touch of a button or flick of a swtich is going to appeal to you more

for a list of fuses (07) see: http://www.wanderingtrail.com/Mechanical/JK/Fuses.html
