ESP Disable - Take two

note: you will see Engine warning light remain on, park brake warning light, all of the usual ESP/ABS warnings as well

plug ur fuses back in and all will reset back to normal

Mine wouldn't reset the warnings etc after taking the fuses out to disable... ( O9 Rubi ) can't quite remeber which order I did it, and its was after quite a bit of driving with it disabled....... but ended up having to use a scan tool to turn off the warnings.

Also a pile of DTC's logged but that's sort of expected considering what your actually doing.

Doesn't ESP and so on supposed to turn off when in 4 low??? Mine is a 10/09 build 2 door sport

Does putting the switch in cancel traction control too??

Some do not it seems.

I too can turn my ESP off in 4Hi by just holding down the ESP Off button for quite a while.

Can't turn off the brake lock diffs tho, but i don't have a problem with that

In 4L just pressing the ESP button should do it according to the Operating Information. In 4H press & hold for ~7 seconds, (1/08 model). In 2H, forget it.

I used the Hokey Pokey (Turn wheel, press & hold button, turn other way etc), method & it all seems to be disabled now. No regular activations leaving home, wheel spin in the same places I got it with the TJ. All seems good.

for an electrical dumbass, what gauge/rated wire extensions do i need? and are switches rated? if so, what rating do I need for that?
