Hi All,

I have read through a few pages and have some questions:

1: If I do this mod, do I lose the so called LSD on the JK.
2: Once done, will I get codes on the dash etc warning me theres a problem.

Im only new to my JK but dont want my experience hindered by electronics. I have just come from a 4.8 GU patrol so I want the JK to give the same experience offroad

Thanks

Default ESP Disable - Take two

It will disable the braking on the tyre that loses traction. It also disables any ABS, and Electronic stability control so using this mod on the road or at speed is not wise.. No codes that I have seen when I use it. And you will get the lights on the dash as it's off. Switch the car off, turn the esp back on and start the car and lights are gone.

If you want to keep the ELBD (Electronic Brake Lock Differential) running use the steering wheel dance from thw users manual to do a 'permanent' ESP disable. I find this is all I need for mud and sand and it keeps the ELBD and off road rated abs active.

Sent from a tiny keyboard with fat fingers, apologies for my spelling. .

I noticed I cant use the 'hill descent' on mine when I use this switch. I usually was flicking this going offroad but I've found the automated hill descent so much better for crawling than what I can manually do with the brakes.
Mucho safer. I would definitely use this in the sand however for emergency braking without abs

I'm a bit confused. Is this mod OK with a 2013 model?

I have not heard otherwise. Though as I mentioned I have not done it and dont think I have a need for it. Turning the ESP system off via the manual gives me the desired effects. Yes it is still active to some extent but the bits that are active I find helpful and not a hinderance.
