Wow, thanks for sharing with me in reaching this goal. When I lowered it on to the ground, I just had to sit down for a moment and stare at it as looked so different.
Thanks for the well wishes for the trip. Just hope my back holds out as don't want to start another year by being taken to hospital in an ambulance and them taking several days to get the pain under control. Been a great year since though as it has not gone out since and that is the longest in over a decade. Usually goes out 4-5 times a year but the year before last it went out 13! I have only missed one morning the whole year without doing my new Pilates stretches to loosen me up first thing so have to make sure it is part of my holiday routine as well.
Here's to another great new year.

Fantastic milestone. Look forward to seeing it in Kinglake! Your wifey sounds like a good one!

Glad to hear you discovered Pilates. I've had similar problems. Pilates is the quiet achiever that not many people recognise the benefits. It is confused with Yoga and is nothing like it. Just need to make sure it is 'proper' pilates in a studio.

A friend of mine had dreams of doing a trek in Nepal, but he had major back problems which prevented him from going. He too discovered pilates, which allowed him to realise his dreams of going to Nepal.

You are so very right. I first tried Pilates at the local gym and it was causing me back spasms while doing it! It actually made the problem worse. Then a Osteopath I tried, that couldn't help me either, sent me to someone doing Pilates in her home studio that she herself went to, as well as a Myotherapist I was using. Did the trick and only takes me 10 minutes to get loosened up every morning now. Used to take 2.5 hours before I could function.
No drug use now either but am taking them just in case something happens in the middle of the trek. Had to get special clearance from my travel insurance too and a doctors OK for them. That way I am covered should I need to be choppered out.
Fingers crossed.

All the best on the trip. Amazing story you have, and very glad you're able to reach your goals. Most people are perfectly fit and able with plenty of opportunity but don't even have goals..

Tough gig it must be to give your wife a trip to Mt Everest after she has given you the go ahead on investing so much time and resource into a project/s like you have haha, sounds like you guys have a good arrangement .

Can't wait for the new updates in 2013!
