Only relevant because intermittent problems are THE biggest pita...interesting you say the new battery created no change....higher output could 'mask' an underlying 'bad joint'...but...thats not your issue....poor wiring(ie: internally corroded) ????....corroded earth ???....loose pin in sensor clip ???....loose wire into a sensor clip ????....unfortunately nothing easy...as you have stated...and the wizards have advised...bugger

Hi.
Yes, it really is a pita. I will fit the new pressure sensor - now i have found where it is lol -. After that it will have to be another garage to look at it. Changing the actuator is beyond my skill level and also lack of tools. Also it is really cold in UK and never stops raining.
The fault coming and going with temp differences does point to electrics in actuator, but i would have expected to see different fault codes.

From reading alexs'posts, and his thread on his daughters car and the work performed, I would imagine the 'basis' for 'most' of your issues is that actuator.....fingers crossed mate.
ps: 40C+ here today....to hot to go outside for long...burnt my feet hanging out the grandkids beach towels

Hi Lads.
A quick update.
Car went to garage on Tuesday and picked it up today.
The code would not clear for them so they fitted the boost sensor i provided. Code immediately cleared and Jeep ran perfectly. They took it for a good drive and all was well. On return they refitted the old sensor, and CEL and code returned. New sensor put back in, and code cleared and all was well.
I drove home the 15 miles or so and even stopped for groceries. All is ok at the moment.
Time will tell i suppose. Be interesting to see how things pan out over the next couple weeks.
I am not usually lucky with things turning out to be simple.
I will keep the thread updated as i move forward.
Thank you to everyone for helping me out. Greatly appreciate it.
At least i have a spare actuator now. Never a bad thing from what i have read.
New battery is great. Had some really heavy frosts and the engine spins over much better.
Your weather sounds great just now.

Hey Brit,
That’s great news.
It’s usually always something simple and sensor related.
Did your shop fit the replacement actuator?
When you say boost sensor/pressure sensor, are you talking about the MAP sensor on the air intake pipe just after the airbox?
Cheers,

Hi Alex.
No, the new actuator is still in its box.
The boost sensor is on the front of the engine, not far downstream from the throttle body.
