Default Thinking of buying a 2005 WK Diesel for the daughter

Hi guys,
I’m an XJ guy, but thinking of getting a WJ Laredo 3.0 Diesel for the daughters first car.
The one I’m looking at has 230k, and looks in pretty good nick. Only $9k, but not sure if that’s a good price.
Any experts that can give me some tips?

Check it out here...

Cheers,
Alex

I’m not a WJ expert. But, at $9k sounds quite reasonable because 230km’s not a lot for a diesel. I would take it for a drive and floor it to see what colour smoke comes out the back - DPF condition ect... I think if (genuinely) no oil leaks and a safety certificate then go for it. Any signs it has been a ‘loved’ vehicle? e.g. floor mats in good condition, oil catch can fitted, ect....

Its a WH and my concern would be the injectors, I had to do mine at approx 240000km and they ant cheap.

They didn’t have a dpf Fishframe.. http://ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/showthread.php?t=135003
Car looks clean as a whistle, but I’m away at the moment So can’t check in person yet. It’s a car yard car. Not sure on Warranty, but in WA cars don’t have road worthy certificates.

You'll have 3 months statutory warranty if from a licenced car yard
(https://www.commerce.wa.gov.au/consu...car-warranties).
I'll make sure they fix that rear middle seatbelt.
You can always ask for a 3rd party to check it over than take it to Dan at 4wdUSA in Bayswater.

I noticed the seat belts in back... can’t understand why they are chewed/cut in half, when the rest of the interior looks pristine.
Cheers for the heads up on warranty. Does anyone know if an Elm reader and Torque works on the 2005 diesel?

I’ve learnt to check for coolant and oil leaks around the inlet manifold, as some o rings can let go. Any the common problems... aircon flaps etc..

I just checked the stat warranty in WA for cars sold in car yards. There is no warranty for cars over 12 years old, or done over 150,000. So this car would need an RAC, or 4WDUSA check..

Cheers,
