She’s a 96 Black Sport and has been semi-retired for over a year.....
Out with the stock 4.0.
Engine was built by Dan-cj7 in Geelong for his CJ but he sold his project to Dan in Sydney who then sold it to me.
It’s been sitting on the shelf for a few years now but it’s time to get it in and going.
Keith black pistons
Comp cam and lifters.
Balanced crank.
Shaved head, decked block.
All the regular re-build shizzle.
AND,
Adjustable MAP sensor.
Hesco water pump.
S/S Extractors
Cold air intake.
Auto is getting swapped for a much younger one along with a flush, filter, etc
Has a triple fan and alloy radiator already.
Should go alright.....

Well I got the 96 part right! ... the plastic PCM cover intrigues me I have seen under the hood of a 96 98 and 99 sports and none of these had the cover ? Did they all loose them? They are a tight fit! That's why I thought it was part of the Limited package ?
Is it a 96 thing? We need awg to weigh in now he has 3 to cross reference 2 sports and a limited do they all have the cover?
Gildo sounds like a awesome build suspension as well I suppose?................. Sounds Great cant wait to watch your Progress!

my 3 x '96 all have an identical plastic cover, as you have to look in at a certain angle to see the PCM part num

Interesting I wonder if later years have them?

Had some custom made Ilana canvas seat covers fitted today to the front seats only. They were sold by Motoquipe. The back part of the seat is poly material and fits on like a sock. It is a 3 piece including headrest.
The cloth seats underneath are in good condition, but the car is about to do a couple of long trips and there will be a lot of dirt, mud, soft drink spills, ice creams, chocolate drinks, and the occasional projectile vomit flying thick and fast.
