Default CRD fuel tank leak

My 2007 unlimited, filled it up the other day and diesel spat back at full.
Thought, I'll do that a bit slower next time.
Now there is a slow leak from around the fuel tank, there has need a bit of damage to the steel under the cat and around the tank, nothing major but it has rested on something over time.
Before buying I had a pretty good look underneath and didn't notice any weeps.
Is there something obvious, maybe connected to how I filled it?
Any ideas?
I have searched and there seems to be some tank leaking issues.

Gary it can be a couple of things that cause this.

One is fuel has gotten on top of the valve in the breather line, another is a gummed up valve.

If it's only happened once at full, then I'd lean towards the former.

JasperJ,
That sounds like it could be, what can I do to fix it, if anything?
