Hi Guys,

I have only been in SA about 6mths, so havent done much 4wd either. I have done a trip out to Lovedays. Was a great day, plenty of stuff to do from the basics to car breaking stuff. Definitely worth the $40 entry. Have also done a few trips along the beach from Goolwa.... easy driving but still a pleasant day out.

The Loveday park is awesome. The fact that I live approx 5 mins away from it helps!

Black Cockatoo Bush Camp outside Naracoorte in the SE has its own 4WD training track aswell. Going down there in the new year so I will post and let you all know. Messent Conservation Park by Salt Creek can be fun...depending on weather. Yeah its a shame we havn't got the track like other states. Anyone heading down the SE pm me and if I'm around we can catch up.

Default SA trips

Some trips booked through the Subaru club [all types of 4WD's welcome] and the Dirty Deeds 4WD Club inc; Beachport Oct long weekend, Geranium last weekend in Oct and Peake on the Weekend of the 12/13 November! All good fun, please P.M. if interested. You don't need to join either club to go. Both of these clubs are laid back and fun.

Just got here in Jan. The wife is still getting over our cross country from the ACT. Started lookin at day trips and have joined Adelaide Jeep Club. There's a place just 75kms from Adelaide called Saunders Gorge Sanctuary I'm keen to look at. It's privately owned $10 camping/night and $50 access to the 4wd track. Anyone checked it out before?

Yeah been there before, the campsites in the creek are awesome! There's basically nothing just old firepits, so doesnt seem like a campsite, they try to keep you a fair distance from other campers and its a short walk to the long drop toilets. Which makes it feel a bit closer to proper bush camping. It was easy to find firewood in the creek too. The 4WD track is a bit..... i spose tame. There's prob 2 hills that are half decent but the rest is just a bush/scenery drive which by the end you are wishing would hurry up and finish.

Finding good places close to Adelaide is tough tho, most things decent are at least 3 hrs away, Flinders, Loveday, Robe etc. Bendelby ranges is fantastic, similar to saunders gorge, only better tracks of all levels and accom from bush camps to old homestead. Willow springs is good too just a bit further. Thre's lots of other farms come camping/4WDing destinations throughout the flinders too. I like Loveday, near Barmera, so long as there's not too many others there, mid week is awesome.

If you find some good spots post 'em up here for sure!
