Unhitched van and drove the 90 k's, it played up a bit especially when I took my foot off the throttle in town. Just about stalled a few times at corners and lights.
Anyway put the new coil pack on and it drove pretty well on the way back except for a couple of hiccups now and then.
Hitched the van back up this morning and away we went, for about 30k's, when it starts doing the same thing AGAIN.
WHAT'S CAUSING THIS, please anybody.

Had a similar problem on my old car. Sounds like it is worse for you under load while towing? If you haven't changed the spark plugs id change them. That is what caused my dramas on my old XJ 4.0. Best of luck

My 4.7 was churning through fuel, randomly running like a pig, misfiring at startup. Changed the plugs for platinum and it's.like a new car.

Sometimes it can be the most basic things that get overlooked. Spark plugs can be funny things and break down when the engine gets hot or under load. I'd always change spark plugs before changing anything else ignition related, they are cheap, easy to do and usually need changing anyway

Drove last night till 12.30 and it ran perfectly, also this am from 06.30 to 08.00, in the cool.
Really confused here, maybe I'll just drive at night till I get to cooler south.
