A recall is what stuffed 4low. Read the N23 sticky.

My solution was to find a wrecked Grand that hasn't had the recall (run the VIN of the wreck, it will tell you the recall is still outstanding) & get the FDCM out of it.

I've been informed that there is a revised recall for the N23 called the P73 which apparently fixes what the N23 stuffed up.? So in short... FCA did a recall that needed a recall due to the recall stuffing everything up? I emailed FCA regarding some answer. We'll see if they reply.

Cheers for the link.

And what happens if I find an un-edited FDCM? Need reprogramming or anything?

There is an update but its not a recall.
A second hand FDCM is just plug & play. Then never let a dealer anywhere near your jeep while the un-flashed FDCM is installed.

I am moving these posts to the N23 section.

They sorted it out last year, the n23 update fried the control module actuator, causing no low range, it took me a lot of months 14 to be exact? to get jeep at penrith to fix it, as they did the update, have the knowledge with you so they cannot just say it's a coincidence? Jeep dealers can be very shifty, they even part swapped my glow plug module out while they had my jeep. Once again learn your car, when I got it back low range was working they replaced the fried actuator and uploaded new update, low range now works, but when I got my car back, it struggled to start, but as the weather got warmer it started easy. Until winter came along, I bought a new glow plug control module and replaced the old one, this was when I noticed mine had been taken out and a old model module installed? Yep part swapping is still going on???

Interrsting you mention "glowplugs". I got a code on my iobd2 stating glowplug fault. Maybe it's my module? Interesting. Some mornings it turns over a few times compared to others. Will keep an eye on the starting. Strange how they swapped it out.. they put a new part in at least or from a used vehicle? Thanks for the heads up.

Just wondering if you got a reply?
Is the P73 update applicable here, or only in the USA?
Should we have to pay to have it checked out/reprogrammed?
Last time i asked my local dealer they wanted $100 just to diagnose the problem!!.
I left it alone till the next service and they then did something 'free' which fixed it, at least temporarily ( I haven't tried low range for a while, so dunno if its working or not!)
