The trouble with mine was that after the passenger tyre wore away the inner liner, it started on the snorkel's inlet hose.
The shop that fitted the snorkel (a well known Jeep specialist), didn't tuck the hose in tight so it was pushing the inner liner out. This probably wouldn't have been an issue if the front end didn't sit so low.
I had to pull it out of the way with large cable ties and then wrap a piece of heavy duty rubber around it to give the hose extra protection. I then covered the hole with marine felt underlay.

Thanks for that, the base line height is 490mm for front, mine has dropped to 455mm so was thinking if I threw a set of standard rate springs on like the Ironman with shocks as they have probably been bashed, then if they drop 30mm I should be good at a height of 500mm ......was hoping to just do the front but if it doesn't work out will throw new spring on the back with packers for the Nivomatt shocks which I find work very well... my theory might of course be wrong...... be nice to just do the lot but funds are short.
Whats the height for the back wheels, might help me with my figuring out things.......standard height is 512mm......
Been down the path of trying to compress new springs onto a strut, too flamin hard with a press, I get the a suspension shop to do it now.....

Hey Nanook with that "U" in your snorkels inlet has it got a moisture drain in it? if you are getting moisture in the air box that low section could have a certain amount of water sitting in it, I know the rams head ejects a lot but misting will still collect in that bend...just an observation

I don't believe so but to be honest I haven't looked for a drain. I might stick my head under there and have a look.
The U bend is still there, I just pulled it back a little with heavy duty ties to lessen the pressure on the liner.
Drover, if I get the chance, I'll measure the back for you tonight and let you know.

The wife measured it for me at work and said ours is 550mm at the rear.
I changed out the OEM 2" shocks on my JK and replaced them with Fox Shocks myself. They were a bastard.
The old shocks I could compress like an accordion. The new ones, I had to lean on them with all my body weight and after they slowly compressed, tied them with cable ties to keep them compressed. Once in position, I'd cut the ties and they would expand into place.
Never again, I was sore for a week after that.

What did you do to your WK Grand today?
This is the lift measurements I had, it may have settled a bit 2-3 years later.
Before - 470mm front and 510mm rear
After - 535mm front and 560mm rear

Hoping someone may be able to help me, I'm in QLD and looking at getting the Murch Prod CRDSTU lift, which for my petrol wk2, is 2.5". I was looking at the QLD laws the other day though and it says max 75mm lift to the car, which if you are combining suspension + tyres is made up of 50mm suspension + 25mm tyres. I've currently got bigger tyres on (275/65R1 which accounts for the 25mm tyre increase but if i got a 2.5" lift that would be 63.5mm for the suspension. Does that mean its non compliant?
