Passenger side CV where it goes into the diff has developed an oil leak since replacing the half shaft. I pulled it all back out to check, the round seal that is on the diff housing where the axle goes in looks fine from the outside but when I "put my finger inside" (don't get wrong ideas here, I love my Jeep but wouldn't go that far ), I could feel a very tiny slit in the rubber on the low side.

So, if you're not replacing your CV's too often, it's advisable to get a new seal with it and change it at the same time. Who knows, it might've ripped after a long drive from Anna Bay and the shaft was all over the place. At the same time I checked my sway bar bushes, pretty flimsy so I have an excuse for another order.

EDIT: Bought the seal from Quadratec and cheaper than RA. It was $9+$9 shipping.

Hi Valpacer,

When you got these, did they end up being the same price or dearer? Just checked their website and they're $1995. How much did they cost you and how much was the shipping to Oz?

I'm having these thoughts where I don't know which way to go. I'm planning to get a L&R OEM set which is around $700 with shipping but considering I go wheeling quite often and push my Jeep harder every time I go, might be worth getting the RCV's in the long run instead. So might just work a bit more harder and save enough to get them.

Would they cause other damage, like breaking of splines or front diff components or even transfer case?

Also, I'm planning to keep this one for a while as I like the way the QD2 works. I'll be doing it up a bit only once I get my wife a new model, LOL.

Hey Mate, were more expensive, but I got them cheaper than the listed price as they were one of the first sets made, and first set out of the US.

I havent done any damage to anything else (yet..) no turning of splines or the like, transfer chain is still tight, oil has come out good.

Im pushing mine harder and harder as well, she keeps coming back for more!
