IMHO i think they designed the vehicle for aftermarket modification pretty damn well.
when i was put the lift on mine I was really suprised at how flexible the vehicle was in enabling you to put in upgraded components yet still be able to utilise most of what was there from the factory.
for one example, the brake lines have enough slack built into them to easily extend to allow for the extra droop and flex that the new suspension gave the vehicle. all you have to do is bend the kinks our of them and you've got yourself plenty more brake line without needing to unhook the hydraulics, attach extended lines and hook them back up, bleed them etc..
the components they use are right for the vehicle in the that they sell on the factory floor - i dont expect that they take every single possible modification into account when building the vehicle. that would make it ridiculously expensive.
i think they give jeep enthusiasts a great canvas to start with, but there isn't any point in designing for every possible contingency - most of the vehicles they sell will never be modified.
we are the minority when it comes to their total sales. something like the JK Rubicon just doesn't exist in any other 4wd manufacturers range, i think we're damn lucky to get that!
