Default Modified Airbox

THIS WAS DONE AS I AM WANTING TO ATTACH A SNORKEL...

1/ Drilled a hole into the rear of the airbox as others also have done.

2/ Fit a 3" extension on the outer, split it a lil and formed it around the outside of the box.

3/ Simply covered the other end with some spare tin lying around. NB/ I didnt end up cutting the rectangular outlet off. Just cut enough tin to cover the outlet folding over the edges.

*One other thing i did do is that i cut lil circles from the leftover tin(pre-drilled them) so that it would secure the rivets a bit more onto the plastic box from the inside.

4/ Then siliconed around the edges front & back including a few extra factory holes in the box itself.

Or is this just to avoid a forward air vent for water crossings where water could be kicked into the engine bay by the fan? Nice mod just not sure what it is for...

i cant see it being real effective given that its buried in the engine bay if thats the case...

if it was like a snorkel where you turn the head around, fair enough, but thats out in the open air.

Well that just ruined the fun, You should have left us to keep throwing out options for a couple of days... I had been pondering it for a couple of hours.... We could have invented an outstanding mod by the end of it I think... Anyway cool snorkel install....
