He's lowering the engine to do the injectors. He says it makes the mounts a bit easier. I know how bad they are because I have done the left one already. It took half a day, only to find out the second hand one I installed was not much better.

I've since sourced brand new inserts to press into the mounts. Eagle BHP 1116R is the item. I got mine via Amazon USA.

Injector set ordered from Hi Tech. Wallet lightened. Work booked for two weeks from now.

Forget to mention that I asked the mechanic about this. He pointed out that the compressor draws 11HP and a little surge on cut in/out is normal.

Had the new injectors fitted. I have not really tested it much because of work commitments. Tomorrow I get to drive to Toowoomba for work, so I'll take the Jeep.

The mechanic is suspicious that it might have a Mercedes fuel map loaded. It still gives a little smoke over 4000rpm, he says. I don't go there often so it won't bother me.

Oh, oh!
Is this a problem? The injectors are just over a year old, too, with a 12 month warranty.

I sure didn't see this coming!

I put in a bottle of Rislone diesel system cleaner, filled the tank and went for a good hard drive around the suburb followed by about 10 minutes of freeway cruising.

It idles smoother and the fuel correction test looks way better. Here's me thinking that I was putting metaphoric snake oil in the tank!

Wow those numbers are so different,,,will you check them again after a few more kms? I always thought using injector "cleaner" had as much chance of working as tyre shine does of restoring tread. Hope i am wrong.

I noted the km in my service log when I added the cleaner. I'll definitely be watching because I too find it hard to believe. I'm more of the opinion that there was a small piece of debris stuck in number 4 that has dislodged.
