Brake Rattle................

I thought I would revive this thread as Hamish commented the other day on his thread about noisy brakes I havnt done anything yet except buy the welder ...I found today on rockauto anti rattle brake clips for $3.20 aud but 14 postage I got them anyway but cant find any where how to fit them? the rattle is annoying and I must do something about it might pull the wheel off tomorrow and have another look
and try and figure out a plan

ok I got the anti rattle clips today from rock auto still going to weld build up the knuckle bit to stop the calliper from moving up and down ..........moving closer to fixing everything

I await to hear if the anti rattle clips help! I can't be arsed welding the calipers back lol. If I need to I can but eh. Cheers, Hamish

Hey mate, I reckon I have this one sorted. Removed my calipers and regreased the slides as I didn't grease them properly last time. No more clicks and clunks! Yay!

well I am going to get the wear groves welded on Wednesday stop the clunking you can see the damage and bang the calliper with your hand and it rattles I will let everyone know how I go on Wednesday night fix in the morning drive down the dirt track in the afternoon to take the dog roo chasing hopefully no more rattle rattle rattle down the track

when i first got my jeep 20 years ago the front brakes rattled every bump, i found that if i lightly placed my foot on the brake pedal the rattle didn't happen, anyway checked out the parts manual and found these.

J323 9865, 4 CLIP, Anti-Rattle

instant solution, worked for me for years now, i don't know if they are still available, at the time the local jeep parts dealer said they weren't fitted, BUT he was able to get them.

give it a shot, beats the hell out of jacking around welding, unless the parts are worn, in which case i would replace them, and still try the anti rattle springs
