Default WK2 plastic spare wheel tub removal.

Hello people, I’m wanting to remove the plastic spare wheel tub on my 2015 JGC limited.
Does anyone have the info on how to do this please.
Cheers

Hi, mine is a 2012 so may be similar. There are four tie down points in the rear cargo area, one near each corner. Lift up the plastic cover then undo the bolts, 7mm or maybe Torx I think. Remove the floor section, the loose tubs on the sides. You don't need to remove the tyre. It just wiggles out. I think you need the plastic tub for the cargo floor to sit on though.

When you do lift the tub, there is a wire connection to the keyless entry antenna that is in a bracket on the outside of the tub, just near the rear door lock. Not visible till you lift the rear of the tub.
Simple to disconnect, but easy to forget to reconnect when putting back together..
Not reconnecting WILL result in a hissy fit from the vehicle..from experience….

I’ve got the tub out and found that wire, wondered what it was for.
Thanks for the info.

Yeah
I know someone who forgot to plug that in back in lately, and took him about a week to figure out why his passive entry wouldn't work.
