Smile Bringing this thread back

We were just cruising around the Otways here and yep, a young Chinese couple with big camper were well and truly stuck.

Pic doesn't show it, but they never had a chance driving in that slop.

My two co-pilots really are hopeless at taking vid or even pics

Front end was buried in a culvert/spoon drain, and was sitting on its sill. Rear wheel drive. No chance.

The look on their faces when we stopped and said we'd get them out was price less.

No tow recovery point on the front, only a rear. So backwards it was.

Their English was not good enough to be able to technically understand how not to rip the front bumper off if it got snagged in the mud, don't turn it this way... etc. A bit sketchy. Just went as slow as possible, and kept checking.

Slow tow had no chance, had to use the snatch.

The relief, the hugs I got, the offer of accomadation if we ever visit China. They were extremely appreciative. 18mth baby sleeping inside, never woke up

They said they'd email me their pics and details. I remember her saying they live in the second biggest city in China.

I'll keep you posted.

They were a very humble couple.

Those rental RVs get stuck very very easily. I did it in NZ, and in our RV you couldn't turn the damn traction control off, which meant zero chance to get any momentum, once stuck that's it. In hindsight I should have found that fuse
We got pulled put by another hire RV.

I wish I had a waterproof phone or camera - this weekend, my mate had to drag a 30-seat bus off a driveway in Buderim (residential suburb) with his JK 2 door and a snatch strap in the pouring rain. The bus driver wanted to do a 3 point turn, reversed up a steep driveway too quickly and got his tow bar caught up, which left his rear wheels in the air above a gutter.

I had to help a couple in their Lexus (Re-badged Land Cruiser) a couple of weeks back. I was doing my local tracks in the Awaba State Forest and came across them.

They were driving home to Sydney from Port Macquarie and decided to take some time to do a few fire trails on the way. They weren't bogged just hopelessly lost so I had them follow me out to the main road and pointed them in the right direction.

I think it might have been a chilly drive home for him. His partner wasn't impressed and she didn't strike me as the outdoorsy / camping type.
