Mate age and mileage on these vehicles now unless you are going to clean up the manifold, flush andclean te pre cooler its a waste of time. If the delete was done like my old rig you wouldn't know it was done unless you unwrapped the wiring.

After sometime noticed smoke reduction, even at WOT towing 2.5ton caravan up long steep hills. Now at 253,000km NO noticable smoke at WOT even towing caravan up the same long steep hills. Also noticed speed at the top of one particularly long steep hill near Bairnsdale is 5 to 10 kph higher with the van in tow. I think what is happening is that all the terrible crud from the EGR is slowly being washed away by the blowby oil and has restored the inlet system. The leakdown test on injectors was good and same with the numbers from Kadios software. When i get around to it the inlet manifold will be changed out for a modified one and the condition of the inlet system will be revealed.
How do you do the swirl delete

Swirl delete is easy,,,4.7k ohm resistor goes between plus wire and the signal wire that connects to the swirl motor. Swirl motor parks up with flaps open when the ignition is off. It is difficult to unplug the swirl motor, so easy way is cut into the wiring loom and cut the signal wire going to swirl motor,,,solder or use some sort of connector to hook resistor on the ECU side of the signal and the plus side wire..Look in the "everything CRD " thread for links to get workshop manual,,look in" wiring "and get the wire colours for the swirl.

Hey guys, just passing through while testing some internet issues. If you use Chrome browser and install the photobucket hotlink fix all my old pics are still there.

I've just completed this mod myself however I completed it up next to the ECU (it's a bit more accessible IMO).

The gray/yellow wire can be found connected to ECU pin 89 (on the smaller connector)

The yellow/white wire can be found connected to ECU pin 12 (on the bigger connector)

The red/light green wire can be found connected to Fuse 16.

Happy splicing!
