Default XJ: 4x4 budget build

After building another long arm wj and my brother nagging me to sell it to him I gave in and sold it to him, so enter project xj 4x4. I'm going to be posting all the mods and how much they cost to show that you don't need to spend and arm and a leg to build a tough 4x4 to get out there and have some fun. After a few months of searching I found a neat 96 cherokee with 250k on it, already having bushwacker flat flares, small all terrains, ocr rear panel armour and a tjm rear swing away carrier.

Here is a list of all the mods I plan on doing, I will put 'fitted' next them as they are installed.

-purchased 1996 xj cherokee $1300
-jcr front winch bumper
-kings dominator winch
-led headlights
-4.5 Inch lift kit
-33" nitto mud grapplers on King d locker wheels
-kings roof rack (fitted) $279
-kings awning (fitted) $94
-uhf and aerial
-lower panel armour
-hood black out decals
-3" stainless snorkel
-slip yoke eliminator

I will add photos as things progress of each mod cheers

Definitely keep the updates coming. I also have a fairly stock XJ Cherokee aswell. Looking to do very similar mods.

Ive seen a lot of people start to add the LED headlights to their XJ's lately. Were your original headlights like a dull yellow? Mine are, but i am kind of waiting to get more feedback from people that are using them. Can you report back on how they go after a few weeks use, and the link to those ones.
Only thing stopping me from getting some is upsetting mr plod and then getting another defect notice.

Cheers,

so ive been looking around lately and second hand parts are an absolute bargain when they pop up from time to time, so i have decided to go a different direction with the build, instead of going all out and dropping a heap of cash on the lift etc i have managed to score some parts for a great deal off members on the facebook xj pages, xj freaks australia, melbourne xj's etc.

so this has now turned into a fully budget build, i have picked up and installed a second hand 2 inch lift (thx jungle juice) , some 31 inch bfg km2s on sunraysias, bonnet decals from america, shovel holder for the roof rack, and just today bought a new snorkel off ebay and scored a second hand winch bumper, and sunday i will go pick up a kings dominator winch.

here is a small update photo for now, will put more up once bumper winch and snorkel are on cheers !
