Due to the typical first point of contact being the shoulder (edge) of the tyre, the actual "tread width" will introduce variations on fitment compatibility for a given tyre size. Unfortunately tread width is a dimension rarely spec'd by tyre manufacturers these days, so you might have to go measure one yourself at a dealer.
My last tyres were noticeably wider than what I fitted this time, despite the carcass size and type being identical.
I have no issues over last 15k km, with Bridgestone Dueler AT 285/60/r18, on my GC 2012 Diesel, no QL, no lift. Running 4 of them, spare is touch undersized, I believe that 5th in spare wheel bay would lift a boot floor by about 3 cm . I was planning to use as a spare BF KO2 265/65r18 with matching overall diameter , still first item on to do list.

Looking for the real world experience, and thats perfect. I've heard that twice now. Might have a look at the duelers, but I have a comparison point at least.
