On another note my leaf bushes arrived; well kind of. When I got them I realised they are too small. The listing on the blokes Aust site is incorect. The front one looked liked a CA bush and was way too small not to mention having a coller. The rears or what appeared to be rears were too small by about 4mm diam. Damn, the ones that looked a close fit looked pretty good as well. They had a nice crushed tube which extends further past the bush than their Crown counterpart. Now to wait another two weekends before I can start the job as he needs to get them from the States before sending them to me.

Yeah my fronts stick out more than the rears. By a bit actually. Front tyres are just past the flares and rears are well under.

Yeah funny the rocker cover gasket costs more than the cylinder head gasket :-/

Drove mine up the blue mountains and back today, stayed nice and cool after the thermofan swap (only up to 100C) during the afternoon and right on 90C in the evening with 8C outside temp. Engine feels a little more freely revving on the freeway too. Can't comment on economy yet as still gotta do the cylinder head swap due to rough running/manifold leaks. Will be swapping o2 sensors at the time, don't see any point in doing it beforehand if there may still be a head gasket leak and I don't want to ruin the new ones.

Finally changed the rear main. Seems most of the oil was coming from rear of sump gasket but changed the rear main anyway as I had it there and did didn't take much longer. Fingers crossed for no more oil leaks!

Hey Del,
The first time I took mine out it took the equivalent of a full day to get it out & nearly as long to put it back. Now it takes me no more than 1 1/2 hrs to get it out or put it back.
I dont use a jack at ant time ant more. not needed.
Dont know your location, a local leccy in Shepparton has many parts for them. He told me the starter is also used in a ford. They dont rebuild starters any more & the spares they have are gathering dust.
