Exclamation CRD Auto Transmission - To cooler or not to cooler?

Well folks - My aeroforce Interceptor gauge arrived today so I will be installing it this evening and posting a few pics.

The point of this was to keep an eye on my coolant and Transmission oil temp's while towing a Jayco Swan Outback.

So as Promised and to answer the question many of us are wondering of whether we should put after market transmission coolers in our CRD jk's.
I will be taking a record of my transmission temp over the next few days after driving and then install a cooler and do the same. This way we will be able to tell weather or not it is actually worth doing on a jk CRD.

Format will be as follows:
Before Cooler
Date:::::::Outside Temp(at dest.):::: Coolant Temp::::Trans Temp::::Klms:::

After Cooler
Date:::::::Outside Temp(at dest.):::: Coolant Temp::::Trans Temp::::Klms:::

Sorry, silly question.

Transmission cooler is a MUST HAVE for most Autos, ALL Autos towing Caravans and definately for ALL JK's.

Only for the Petrols Mash...they dont know how to fit them to the Diesels due to the Intercooler taking up the designated location.

Matt.

redgp has fitted a trans cooler after fitting a exhaust gas temp guage and a transmission temp guage. He tows a one ton camper trailer everywhere and he said it was a must do and has noticed a lot of difference. I recall him saying he needed it after his first trip around Tasmania.
The Exhaust temp guage he has fitted has warning alarms and even with the trans cooler he still gets occasional over temp alarms.
