Saving on fuel for sure, not good for the cars to sit indefinitely though.
Apparently toilet paper is an essential item.....after all we all shit. Given the scarcity of the stuff locally, I recommend keeping a 12 pack in the car at all times. Should the Gestapo stop you and ask 'papiere bitte", you just pull out the 12 pack and say "scheise mein Fuehrer".

I do believe its all done to protect the Chronically Stupid to protect them from themselves, Cities seem to be blessed with a large number of them, WHS has meant they aren't a dying breed anymore so the rest of us have to suffer............. I'm so glad I'm retired, don't live in or near any large city still have our share of Stupid but at least in controllable numbers.............. Community spirit sorts them out...

That is crazy. Here in SA we're not at that stage yet, however I reckon it's coming as people have taken off on holiday this week etc.
Bunnings is a challenge, gotta line up 🤔
ALDI now have these massive screens on each checkout too.

It is a Vic statewide policy, not confined to Melbourne. Country dwellers in this state don't get immunity. And if you think this law is OTT, Vic golf courses are also now closed - gone - out of bounds.

I wanted to build some new garage shelving, it was going to be my distraction for a while. Local Bunnings is only 3k's from me but along a major highway (read police habitat) and since Bunnings don't/won't deliver the particular stuff I need, I'll be back to the TV and cookie jar I guess.

As for the Chronically Stupid, no shortage. I reckon a batch of 'em moved south once (rightly) kicked off Sydney's beaches!!

More? OK, since I've nothing better to do:

* 17 y/o learner driver and mum fined $1600 for being out on a driving lesson two days ago, never left the isolation of their car.

* P plater booked just before the one above by the same copper, insufficient excuse for being out - in the car.

* Not only are golf courses closed, also fishing is banned e.g. NSW residents can fish from the north bank of the Murray, Vic's can't fish from the south bank.

The biggest problem? Inconsistency between states, and state laws changing almost daily. People can't keep up, and many aren't even aware they're breaking the law.

Strewth, talk about hi-jacking the thread off-topic! My apologies.

The law discrepensies between states is still mind bogling.Try buying a vehicle reg in NSW and then change ownership in NSW RMT office if you have a QLD licence.Might as well be in another country.! Our Qld solicitor couldnt act for us in NSW on a house purchase.Plenty more.
