most of my 4x4ing is on sand, a group of us always travel to the coorong in SA. 4x4s, dune buggies, bajas, motor bikes etc have gone with us. there are several crossings there to the beach (the crossings and beach are classed as a state road so vehicles MUST be registered) and great camping spots. one of the best spots is at Wreck crossing (best used in dry weather) plus there are amazing dunes and tracks on some private property there (we know the owner) that we always have a blast on. if you do go there please make sure you dont go into the dunes "inside" the conservation park area, respect and preserve our natural wonders and these types of places will stay open for our enjoyment

Again, not beach driving but some great sand driving through Ngarkat CP North of Keith, S.A. through to Danggali CP between Renmark and Mildura. Haven't tried the SA/Vic Border track yet but it's supposed to be a classic also.
