Default Custom Bash Plates for a WH!

I'm after some bash plates for my WH Grand Cherokee for a trip to the Cape later this year so have been emailing around to get some idea of prices for a custom set.

I've seen plenty available in Europe (strangely enough) and a few in the US but shipping is crazy given the size of the plates or not even possible. I'm know the Murchison ones are the best (only) local ones available but there are only 2 plates available and I would like the 3 under a WH replaced. It was the 3rd transfer case one I ripped off during a the Vic High Country last year.

Of course I'm in NSW so no-one here seems to make any or can even give a ballpark quote on any. It's either QLD or VIC.

My best email result so far is a mob in Melbourne who do lots of bash plates for lots of different vehicles and are happy to make some for a WH. Great feedback and enthusiasm from them so far. They make 4mm laser cut, zinc plated plates for Hilux, Pajero, Triton, Navara, Isuzu, Prado and even Land Rover Discovery. They are keen to add a Jeep to there lineup. They can also do red or black powdercoating for an extra cost.

The price - about $300-$350 for the 3 plates! This is just an estimate but it's about the same as they charge for other vehicles in their range so I can't see it changing much.

What I am after is someone who lives in Melbourne with a 2005 WH CRD Laredo who is willing to be a guinea pig to prototype the plates. I am happy to drive down to Melbourne to do it myself but if anyone else wants/needs some bash who lives there then it makes sense for them to do it locally.

At that price I'll be buying some anyway and I can't offer any discount on their behalf for prototyping or a group discount if a few people want them but they are very willing to help in the discussions so far so you never know. I'm just putting the feelers out at this stage to see if anyone interested.

So post back here if you are or can help with prototyping and hopefully we can can get some more accessories made for the WH.

Cheers,
HB

I have custom bash plates made by Macquarie 4x4.

I didn't get them made but was lucky enough to pick them up for a song when a forum member sold his WH a few years back.

Transmission guard, I have never used it.

Front, well used

When both are on there is a totally flat surface under the engine and transmission.
Note, these were designed to fit with a factory bumper so the front edge doesn't line up with my bar.
Here is there contact details

Interesting.

I would be interested in a set, but, am also in NSW.

On a related topic, do the lower control arms hit the stock skid plate on full droop with a 2" OME lift??

Cheers

@ Clarky - Thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure I email Macquarie 4x4 but got no response so figured they didn't want my business that badly. Maybe I'll try again if they already have templates available. I don't have a front bar so they would work well but it's still only 2 out of 3 plates.

Are you looking to sell yours or just showing me?

Macquarie 4x4 don't make bash plates any more and they recommended a place in QLD I had contacted before. They had quoted $700+.

So it's back to the mob in Melbourne who are offering the best option at the best price.

Anyone down there who can help out?

I am not in Melbourne mate but after a weekend on the beach down south where my 'third plastic plate' kept filling up with sand and bellying out I am very interested in this Melbourne plate option for $350 + postage to Western Australia. I too saw the Murchison ones which look pretty good but won't fix my problem. I am wondering if removing the front air dam has exacerbated the issue of sand getting on top of the plastic factory plates.
