did some more research and confirmed the sidegear swap is doable but will probably still be more expensive than its worth. so the new plan is to put an RD104 30-spline locker in (the 100 can go in my Chero or maybe someone will buy it). im also looking at upgrading the Alloy USA shafts to the Nitro units with Nitro unis. im told both are stronger than the Alloy/CTM combo.
so now its just a matter of getting a locker and the ball will start rolling again (hopefully this coming week).
