I'm running 95 in my 2013 2 door, getting an average of 12L/100KM I am so stoked, only 500km on the clock so I am guessing that figure is only going to get better! I am so happy with the Pentastar, it is such a great engine.
My last Jeep was a 2005 TJ, it was getting an average of 22L/100KM

The fuel discussions always interest me. '''Knocking'' and ''pinging'' problems in non-performance driven engines finished up about 20yrs ago. And although there may be minor fuel efficiency benefits with the ''good stuff'', at best you're getting 20% better mileage for 20% more cost. Fuel quality marketing is huge in Australia right now. It was big in the UK too a few years ago, but everybody got over it when they saw the differences were negligible. I'm not saying use rubbish, but a reputable company's standard fuel is ok.

I have tried running all the grades in both the jk and my XR8 and in both cases I have got the best bang for buck on 95, the few extra few kms I get with 98 isn't worth the price.

Have been putting in Vortex 95 from the 2nd tank.
Same station and same pump always hahahaha.
The 1st tank was from the stealer so no idea what they used.
Getting about 14-15.5L around town stop start and off road.
Anything like 50km straight at 95-100km she drops down to 13.5L.
Mind you I have added about 400-500kg's to her waist.

This may be true, but the last time I filled with 91 there was a noticeable performance difference with definite pinging. Certainly no placebo effect and I only fill at the majors too. 95 all the way now.

I have Found that when it comes to Fuel BP and Caltex seem to have the best Quality fuel. i get more kms out 95 BP then i did out of Shells 98 and my brothers Typhoon actually sounds noticeably worse on Shell fuel.

I started by using the recommended 91 in my 2012 JKU but there was noticable pinging at low revs. (Below 2500 rpm) I now use BP 95 octane and there is no pinging at all and the motor just seems to run much better, smoother and has much better low down performance.

I always thought that using 91 in a 10:1 commpression engine was a bit optomistic anyway. It is after all the recommended minimum.

Don't forget that the octane rating has little to do with how much energy you can get out of the fuel. It is just used as a measure of how resistant it is to detonation under pressure (The opposite to the Cetane rating in diesel). A litre of 91 octane has the same energy density as a litre of 98 octane. It just means that you can compress the 98 more before it self detonates, so when it is sparked it releases the energy quicker. I been told that using fuel of a higher octane rating than is needed can actually reduce power and fuel economy.
