The Electronic Brake Lock kicked in and up I continued with no probs at all. Heard the comments half way up the hill (as they had all come down to watch the Jeeps get stuck) and were yelling out comments like "cheaters - we did it without lockers". They didn't seem impressed when I told them it was a stock Sport that doesn't have lockers
I've wondered about the EBL but am yet to experience it. How does it go with a manual JK? With the auto its always made sense to me how it would kick in. But how do you get it to kick in with the manual? Anyone know? Just continue with the gas?

Yep just continue as normal and accelerate a little if one wheel lifts and starts spinning. Brakes will be applied to that wheel and the other side will receive some drive and off you go. Exactly the same concept been around for ages in open diffs - if you lift a wheel apply light to medium brakes and accelerate at the same time. Used to work quite well on my Subi.
