Hi, I really want to know what size wheels i need to fit on my kj 2007 as i dont know anything about offsets and backspacing. Pro Comp dealer in melbourne doesnt have a clue what one will fit a kj!? If i was to order any of these two choices what sizes are the max i can go on a kj and what offset/backspace??
Please help as my container shuts on the weekend!!
thanks

KJ wheels are: 5 on 4.5 stud pattern (same as Ford). The usual alloy is 16" x7" and has a 5.5" backspacing. The backspacing is the problem usually. There are few aftermarket wheels that will fit a KJ. You could go with a smaller backspacing but that means your increasing the track width and the wheels will stick out further under the guard. In some states there are limits on tread width increases (like NSW), don't know the regs for VIC. I am not aware of any of the Procomps that will fit the KJ - and I have looked. If you do fit a smaller backspace wheel you may have to trim bodywork to get them to fit without rubbing.

Re the two you have supplied links to:

The first one (7069) is not available in a 16" size with the correct stud pattern, and a 15" (with the correct stud pattern) will probably not clear your brake calipers with that backspacing. The second one (7031) has a 16" size (16"x8") with the right stud pattern but the backspace is going to increase your track width by 2" overall and you would need to test fit them to be sure about clearance issues (I doubt the dealer is going to order them in just so you can test fit them). Be aware that you'll need to be careful about tyre size on the 16x8".

Good luck, sounds to me like you need to do more research before you make a decision.

Thanks for that Glend. I have been reading heaps on the forums about it but the knowledge is never ending and im finding too much 'false' and 'misleading' information too. I have heard that none of the procomp black rims will fit the KJ to a T so now im back to the start again grrr.

what is the biggest tyre you can fit to a standard 16x7 KJ rim without rubbing issues? I heard about a 245x75x16?
