Check out my Ride(s)
Question 'You pick the winch for us' poll.

Hi,

I'm 60% decided on which winch to get after much input in from you folks in my other thread.

It's going on our weekend Otways explorerer but it is a DD. I'm actually looking forward to winching up long climbs and through things in winter.

I'm locking in the 9000lb bracket, synthetic rope and reliability.

Our secondary priorities are: Has to be fast. Has to be able to hold a long length of rope.

Please keep in mind that I'm fabricating our own basic and very simple winch plate with recovery points. There will be no bull bar, so installation is not a factor at all.

Ok, so this is it. You vote, I'll get it. Unless trolls take over and it's obviously a dud result. I'll let the poll go for two weeks, because frankly, if you vote for the one I'm leaning towards I'm going to need time to save up

Oh, the double motored, Giggly pinner is not an option today
Yeah, there are tonnes of winches that aren't listed, I've just picked the ones brought up in the other thread I had going, or very similar because it hurts my head now.

In no particular order, prices approx, the choices are:

Warn M8274-50 high mount $3000

Runva EWX9500-Q EVOLUTION Competition Model low mount $900

Warn XP-S 9.5 low mount $2500

Supercheap Ridge Ryder 9500lb low mount $700

Warn 9.5 CTI-s low mount $1900

I'm voting for the Runva, where the Warns are obviously the best the price tag is ridiculous and after working for SCA I would never buy anything that you need to rely on from them, the Runva sits well on the price point for me, $660 delivered from Shoreline with Dyneema http://shoreline4x4.com.au/performan...88fa316d6f45ba.

I'll sit back now and wait for the "you get what you pay for" posts.

8724 for me, hands down. Bars that suit them for JK's are limited but I am super happy with my UNEEK4x4 bar.
