Default Time to part company

SWMBO has finally persuaded me that we will need to upgrade our transport arrangements and that we need to do this before I finally retire and start living on my super, so we are about to part company with the KJ and upgrade to a new Grand Cherokee Limited CRD (I explained that if the new car wasn't a Jeep I would be left with a lot of pointless shirts, trousers and jackets) and the Inferno (that's the colour, not a propensity for bursting into flame) will be looking for a new home.

I'll be advertising it properly later when the deal for the WK is finalised, but if you know anyone looking for an honourably dented Inferno Red MY2006 CRD Sport in full off-road trim (CRDSTU suspension, snorkel, full set bash plates, TJM front bar with winch and spots, 40 channel UHF) with 136,000 on the clock just let me know.

Howdy Pipes,

I'm sure the gang on this site will be sorry to see a wise head move on.

As the owner of an 07 Inferno,I concur they are an eyecatching colour combo.

Good luck with the Grand and your intending retirement-as a self-funded retiree myself,I know the sense of joy, comfort and yes,the occassional pange of frustration that is in front of you.

Keep lurking on the KJ page from time to time, there's been a few good laughs lately.

Steve.

Welcome to the world of WK owners. I followed the same path from very happy KJ owner to even happier WK owner. Even drove the WK all the way from Melbourne so Stu could do the suspension and tyres for me. Have fun

The passing of a legend - not you Pipes but the Inferno, which featured in many threads and trips over the years. I hope it goes to a good home. Hmm Nobby was looking for a CRD a while back. It should be snapped up quick by the knowledgable here on AJOR as it is one of the few manual transmissions I'd be suggesting a premium on it.

It seems to be a trend, didn't Greg move to a CRD Grand as well as the guy above on this thread, and some recent others. I may be the last one around in the future, but I know a few down this way that are still holding onto theirs as Jeep has yet to produce an obvious successor (not even discussing the Catfish Cherokee as a possible). The new Grand is a nice vehicle, and its a great engine (VM of course), and I could get my telescope gear inside easier..... we'll see.

Passing of a legend.... well yes, because Pipes will have to hang out in that other part (Grand Cherokee) of the site.

Pfft... you will have to keep posting here though Pipes, Im sure your level headed views have been appreciated...

Regards
Daz

All the best.
I am sure you will love it.
My brother has a Grand Limited CRD in Billet Silver for almost a year now and loves it to death. He travels 100km per day for work and is getting 8.5L/100km.

I actually was referring to the Inferno and not Pipes himself who will surely be around for many years to come in the Grand.

More concerning is Nobby's move to a Toyota 76 Series!! But then I was test driving a Landrover Defender recently.
