Default Dana44 and wheel track.

Hi Guys,
I'm after some info for Engineering purposes.
The goal is to have 35's engineered. I have a 2012 JKU Wrangler and am having a Tera44 installed in the front end. The rims I'll be running will push my track width out beyond the allowable 25mm increase, to approx 1640mm.

Does anyone happen to know of a vehicle that runs Dana 44 diffs with a similar track width?

If I can find this info, then I should be able to avoid swerve test etc..

You will find it very hard to find some thing to suit. Why dont you have 35s on stock rims get it engineered and then change the rims?

I've never seen the point in engineering and then changing thing's, if your going to do that don't bother getting it engineered in the first place. The whole point of engineering is to make something legal.

Yeah but the the thing is he can't get engineering because of 25mm. Are you saying that if you spent all that money to go through the trouble of getting 35" tires engineered and hypothetically broke a rim and decided that you need new rims you would go standard? Because of 25mm... every jeep that you see with extended flares wouldn't be engineered and they dont get picked up so why worry about 25mm. I know ill proberly get a grilling from the people about the post but chill out at the end of the day its a 25mm its not going to make your brakes fail or break control arms while you heading to the shopping center.

So to the author of the post are you wanting to get a dana 44 from another vehicle to transplant as a cheaper option? The only 44s you'll find in aus that i know of and i have been searching for a year, would be from a old f100 that would be cheap but alot of work. Anyone whos wrecking a chev wants too much. You could go patrol diffs and get them flipped if you want strength and have them shorten if needed but then you'll need custom shafts and if you keeped them standard shaft youll need new rims. Either way you look at it your looking big bucks. In vic if you get busted with 35s its $25 vicroads inspection fee.

Engineering and the like aside, you put different offset wheels on so that your tyres will clear, and then you want to narrow the track, shorten the axle housing length to bring them in to foul stuff again?????!!!!
You know, you can build or modify a Dana diff pretty much any width you want. The supply of inner axles to suit your length is the catch.(Not much of a problem in the USA though.)
That is the beauty of round tubes with seals on the diff end of them. Pretty much designed to buggerizing around with. Just weld things on where you want them.

I'm having a Tera 44 installed in the front and keeping the standard rear Dana 44.

What I'm trying to find is written confirmation of another vehicle that uses a Dana 44 and has a wider wheel track measurement than the JK.
